About Us
A mission that is changing the face of healthcare
Welcome to the “About Us” subpage of the CAHPS-SUN.org website. We're glad you want to learn more about our project, our team and our mission. The CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) project, funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), aims to improve the quality of healthcare by collecting and analyzing patient feedback.
Who We Are
We are an interdisciplinary team of experts that includes researchers, analysts, healthcare specialists, and quality consultants. We work together to develop survey tools that allow us to reliably and accurately measure patients' experiences with the healthcare system.
Our Values
1. Reliability: All our research is based on the highest methodological standards. We make sure that our data is accurate and reliable.
2. Transparency: The results of our research are available to all stakeholders - patients, health care providers, policy makers and researchers.
3. Innovation: We are constantly looking for new methods and tools to further understand patients' needs and expectations.
4. Commitment: We are deeply committed to improving the quality of health care and believe that patient feedback is key in this process.
Our History
The CAHPS project was initiated in the 1990s by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). From the very beginning, our goal was to create tools that would allow us to objectively and reliably measure the quality of health care from the patients' perspective. Over the years, we have developed our methods and expanded our research to provide increasingly precise and comprehensive data.
What We Do
Creating survey tools
We create and develop advanced survey tools that allow for detailed studies of patient experience. Our surveys are designed to address various aspects of healthcare, such as:
- Access to care: How easy is it for patients to get the care they need?
- Communication: How effectively do medical professionals communicate with patients?
- Coordination of care: How well is care coordinated between different providers?
- Patient satisfaction: What is the overall satisfaction of patients with the care they receive?
Data analysis
The data collected is analyzed by our team of experts, which allows us to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for health care providers and policymakers. Publications and educational resources
We publish the results of our research in the form of reports, scientific articles and educational materials. We also organize webinars and workshops to raise awareness of healthcare quality.
